Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche AG will launch the most powerful, fastest and most refined 911 GT3 ever at the Geneva Motor Show on March 3, 2009. The improved 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 will go on sale at Canadian dealerships in October at a price of $138,100. Producing 435 horsepower from a larger 3.8-litre flat six engine, rocketing the sports car to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. Zero to 160 km/h is reached in 8.2 seconds. Top track speed is 312 km/h. Additional photos follow.
The GT3 is powered by a bigger, stronger heart than last years model 911. At 3.8 litres in displacement, the flat-six is 0.2L larger and has a 20-horsepower advantage over the outgoing model. Total power is 435 bhp. The engine is also more intelligent; it now features Porsche’s VarioCam valve timing system on both intake and exhaust camshafts. This improves mid and low-end torque, reducing the previous engine’s peaky character. This should make the GT3 a little less strenuous to drive on a day-to-day basis.
